Description

For all University of Portsmouth Research and Academic Staff

For all University of Portsmouth Research and Academic Staff interested conducting research in or with the NHS
Good Clinical Practice (GCP) is a one day course delivered by experienced research facilitators from Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust under license from the Clinical Research Network. GCP is the international ethical, scientific and practical standard to which all clinical research is conducted. Compliance with GCP provides public assurance that the rights, safety and wellbeing of research participants are protected and that research data are reliable.
GCP training has a practical focus, and the training content will be tailored as far as possible to academic researchers working with NHS partners. The workshop will enable participants to:
• know what to do to practise excellent GCP in your research to ensure the rights of patients and the quality of research data
• appreciate the importance of clinical research to patients, the NHS and wider society
• receive an internationally recognised transferable qualification that is a requirement for many of those involved in conducting research in the NHS.
