Introduction to Governorship Training Course 15th, 20th and 22nd April

This foundational course is designed to equip new or aspiring governors with the knowledge, confidence, and understanding required to effectively support and challenge their school leadership in a Catholic setting. Spread across three interactive sessions, the course offers practical insights, key terminology, and essential frameworks for effective governance.

Target Audience: All governors.

Course Aim: The aim of this course over three sessions is to address the main issues that will be faced by a new (or nearly new) governor. This course takes place over three sessions.

Course Content :

• Governance in a Catholic context.
• Understanding the language of governance.
• Committees and school visits. Legal duties and responsibilities.
• Strategic v Operational issues.
