BIPC Lewisham presents a bitesize introduction to one of our most useful online resources.

Idox's Timothy Crampton and BIPC Lewisham staff will guide you through how to set up searches, what you can expect to find and what to do next.

You can access GrantFinder free of charge at Catford, Deptford and Downham Libraries through our public PCs. GrantFinder may also be available at other BIPC Network locations.

What is GrantFinder?
A user-friendly, accurate and professional funding tool which has helped its users to facilitate the securing of millions of pounds worth of support. GrantFinder is available as part of the BIPC Lewisham business programme and can be accessed

Grantfinder has over 8,000 funding opportunities. Its easy to use interface allows you to you to quickly and easily identify funding in a number of ways.

What kind of funding does GrantFinder cover?
Information on over 8,000 funding schemes including grants, loans and awards from local, regional and national UK government; European funding, charitable trusts and corporate sponsors.

The Kickstart Your Business workshops are:

  • "Business Research and Information': Protecting what your business does and creates is key to creating value. In this interactive workshop on Intellectual Property, you’ll learn the practical steps you need to take to own and defend new inventions, products and brands. Topics include all you need to know about patents, designs, trademarks and copyright. This workshop also covers the fundamentals of using the BIPC’s and your library’s resources to develop a strategic roadmap for your business. You will be introduced to concepts like the Value Proposition and to tools like the Business Model Canvas, to help you make informed business decisions, plan and offer value to your customer.
  • 'Get Started': In this high energy and practical workshop, you will find out how to set up your business and avoid common start-up pitfalls. By the end of the day, you will have the skills, knowledge and confidence to complete a one page business plan.
