Description

The £50 fee for this course includes all three weeks: Thursdays 9th, 16th and 23rd March, from 6pm – 9pm.

This introductory course is suitable for ages 18+ and gives you the opportunity to try your hand at a range of different techniques in Graphic Design. You will study about the basics of typography, colour theory, digital effects and the Adobe Creative Suite. It’s an amazing opportunity to understand the fundamentals of Graphic Design and see if a degree in Graphic Design is the right option for you.



Subjects covered

Week 1: Typography & Illustrator

  • Typography & font families
  • Colour Theory
  • Adobe Illustrator Introduction


Week 2: Desktop Publishing

  • Typesetting
  • Creating pages and documents
  • Adobe InDesign Introduction


Week 3: Post Production Image editing

  • Repairing images with digital effects
  • Creating stylised Effects
  • Introduction to Adobe Photoshop

You needn't bring anything with you to these sessions. Please visit Reception on the first evening.

Entry requirements

There are no specific prior qualifications needed to access this qualification. However, learners might find it useful if they have already undertaken a short course or A level evening course.

This course is intended for adults who wish to discover more about creative media and how a degree could take their interests even further.

Students could progress from this course onto the BA (Hons) degree in Graphic Design.
