Introduction to Green Woodwork
Sun 2 April 2017, 10:00 – 16:00 BST
Join local green wood worker, Paul Pulford. Alongside being an knowledgable trainer he is also an experienced and accomplished gardener, Paul creates wildflower gardens and vegetable patches in inner-city schools and on waste ground. He also uses horticulture as an aid to rehabilitation via the group he started called Grounded Ecotherapy.
Learn to use specialist green wood-working tools (Froe, Beetle, Small Hand Axe, Chopping Block, Draw Knife, Brace & Bit) whilst sat astride an authentic wooden Shaving Horse in the beautiful surroundings of Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park. You will make a variety of Wooden Spatulas for use in your Kitchen.
We hope that, using the skills that you learn on the course, you will be inspired to continue this wonderful craft in your own time and who knows, maybe even build your own Shaving Horse to use.
As part of the ticket price you'll also be treated to a vegetarian lunch cooked on a camp fire and home-made chai tea.
PLEASE NOTE THE UPCOMING TWO DATES HAVE BEEN MERGED: the course will take place on 2 APRIL only.
Please join our mailing list to be kept informed of future dates.
