About this Event
Businesses must have a trading address within Greater Manchester. They must have a staff count between 1 and 250. Turnover must be below £42 Million. If the business is part of a group (holding companies/subsidiaries etc.) the total staff count and turnover must fall under the previously mentioned thresholds.
This course provides a general overview of essential HR for your business. Whether you are a micro business with fewer than five employees or an SME, this course will give you the perfect starting point and knowledge to put the basics in place and understand your legal obligations as your business grows.
Who is the course aimed at?
This course is aimed at business owners and managers, as well as anyone finding themselves with responsibility for HR or looking to add a HR specialism to an existing role.
Learning outcomes:
- Recruitment - top tips for selection including right to work checks.
- Making an offer – what you should and should not include in the contract of employment.
- Basic Employment Rights – including pay/deductions from pay, annual leave and holiday pay, rights to time off work, notice periods, Sunday working and data protection.
- Managing staff in a fair and consistent manner – including disciplinaries, grievances and absence management.
