Event description

Description

This one day workshop is a great introduction to map reading and the navigation skills you need to enjoy a great walk in the countryside without reliance on a phone app.

You will be amazed how much detail there is on an Ordnance Survey map! I will help you make sense of it all and gain confidence to plan and follow an interesting route along paths and tracks.

In the morning we will learn how to get the most out of our maps and introduce basic compass use. After lunch we will go on a short walk to put your newly acquired skills into practice.

Maps provided. If you have a compass, please do bring it with you (I will have some for use on the day, if required).

Please bring a packed lunch any snacks (morning tea/coffee provided).

What to wear - clothes and shoes/boots that you are comfortable walking in and are appropriate for the weather conditions.
