Negotiation skills workshop:

Negotiations are a vital part of government work. Whether within departments, across Whitehall or between states, securing joint-decisions that deliver value for all parties is an essential civil service skillset. Effective negotiators require a clear-eyed understanding of interests, impactful communication and strong relationships. Above all, it requires detailed planning.

This workshop offers tools and techniques that can be used in any negotiation. The material and case studies focus on international affairs. A trained facilitator with experience from diplomatic postings in New York and Brussels will take participants through an introduction to negotiation theory, as well as exercises to practice your skills. The session is highly interactive. Participants should come prepared to shared their own negotiation experiences.
