An Introduction to Online Fundraising


We have teamed up with Localgiving and Thrive Trafford to offer local groups the chance to learn how online fundraising can benefit their organisations.

Localgiving will explain how online fundraising can help your organisation become less dependent on grants, giving you the tools and freedom to raise funds from individuals who care about your cause. This workshop will give you an understanding of how online fundraising can help groups to open up a new channel of funding for their cause and tips for how to fundraise effectively online.

This session will cover: 

  • Why you should be fundraising online.
  • The ‘Top Five’ tips for effective online fundraising.
  • Tips for effectively communicating your work.
  • Asking supporters to fundraise for your cause.
  • What Localgiving offers: Gift Aid, appeal and fundraising pages, match fund campaigns.


 Trainer Bio: Joe Burns

Joe is a former Corporate Fundraiser for national charity Brake and is currently Localgiving's North West Development Manager. He also has experience as a volunteer researcher and fundraiser for a local NHS charitable trust.

Localgiving works to strengthen the sustainability of the local voluntary sector. They do this by supporting local charitable organisations to diversify their income through online fundraising. Since 2009 they have helped over 5,000 small charities and community groups to raise over £13m.




Workshop:

We ask that all attendees arrive 15 minutes before the workshop starts to allow for registration and ensure a timely start and the smooth running of the workshop. Tea and coffee will be provided throughout the day, however lunch will not be provided. 

Booking:

You must be a member of Small Charities Coalition in order to attend this workshop. If you aren't already you can register for free here.

Waitlist:
If the places have all been filled please do add your details to the waitlist and we will let you know as soon as a place becomes available.

Cancellations and Refunds:
If you cancel your place at least 2 full working days before the event takes place then you are entitled to a full refund by request. Refunds for cancellations after this point are given at the discretion of Small Charities Coalition.

If you cannot make a workshop please advise us as soon as possible. Workshops normally have a waitlist and if you notify us early enough then there's a good chance another charity can attend in your place.
