A dynamic, facinating and informative day with Dr Kate Anthony FBACP
(co-faciliator Jo Watson UKCP reg)
This one day workshop with the leading expert in the field, Dr Kate Anthony, will be a flexible introduction to the topic of online therapy and counselling.
Bring your burning questions!
The day starts with an introduction to what technologies are being used with clients or by clients - from text-based modalities such as email and chat through to virtual environments.
We will study the core theoretical proponents of online behaviour and how these impact on the therapeutic relationship, before looking at the essential skills needed to communicate with your clients online in a safe and ethically based manner.
Kate will focus down on the ethics of online therapy and online counselling in the afternoon through both teaching materials and group discussion. We will also touch on responsible social networking and the pitfalls of using social media sites such as Facebook and LinkedIn as a modern day practitioner.
Jo wil faclitate the final session of the day which will provide a chance to assimilate all that has been learnt as well as offering valuable opportunities for professional networking.
