Introduction to Papermaking
Sat 25 March 2017, 14:00 – 17:00 GMT
Participants will be able to explore the entire process of creating their own sheets of decorative paper - from making pulp with old papers (and some plants) through to creating several of their own sheets of different coloured and patterned papers to take home.
The three hour session will cover several different decorative techniques and look at ways of layering patterns, colours and other materials into the paper such as leaves, flowers, seeds and fabrics. Paper making is a wonderfully tactile and relaxing process. Claire will bring lots of examples and resources and also look at ways your finished paper can be used in other projects.
No previous experience needed at all and all materials will be provided. If you have any little scraps of fabrics, lace, ribbon etc or any leaves / flowers that you wish to experiment with adding to your paper then please bring them along - but there will be lots of these provided too.
Participants will create a little stack of sheets of paper to take away, these will need drying out at home and then can be used for all sorts of other creative projects.
