This half day workshop will introduce you to the techniques for patchwork.
You will be making a 'Pieced Ohio Star' block with borders.
This block design plus borders introduces the patch worker to simple shapes, squares, strips, half square triangles and quarter square triangles.
4 fabrics ; 1 fat quarter dark for the main star
1 fat quarter light for background triangles
1 fat quarter contrast for block corners
1 fat quarter accent/focus fabric for centre square and borders
If piecing by hand: scissors, pencil, ruler, toning cotton sewing thread, fine needles
If piecing by machine: your sewing machine in good order, new needle (size 80), spare needles, toning cotton sewing thread, plus basic sewing kit, pencil. We do have a limited number of sewing machines at The Stitch Mouse if you would prefer to use one of ours, please book early and call the shop to reserve your machine. They will be booked on a first come first served basis.
If you have a rotary cutter, board and rotary cutting ruler this will help prepare for machine piecing.
Your tutor is Anne Walker, an experienced and talented quilter who used to run and teach at her own shop for many years in Epsom.
Our workshops are small, the maximum number for this class is 6 to ensure you get the personal tuition you need to help with your project and get the best out of the workshop.

Cancellation: If you cancel within 28+ days of the course date then 50% of the course fee is payable. If you cancel within 0-27 days of the course date then 100% of course fee is payable. In both instances, if we are able to fill your place we will refund your course fee, less £3 administration fee.
