Description

Overview

This practical workshop introduces teachers to tips and techniques for taking photographs of artworks and objects in the classroom.

Participants will learn the basics of digital photography as well as simple ways of lighting and photographing
artworks for social media and blogs. There will be hands-on tasks in a relaxed environment and
participants will be able to enjoy some networking time.

Topics covered during the session include:

· The basics (camera settings)

· Lighting (working with natural and artificial light)

· Composition and framing

· Introduction to image editing (enhancing photographs)

This workshop will be useful to teaching staff and arts practitioners who have little knowledge of photography techniques and would like to improve their skills in order to better photograph pupils’ work.

Delegates need to bring their own digital camera (this can be a DSLR or compact) or tablet. Please also bring a small piece or work to photograph, a notepad and pen.

Facilitator

Diana Oliveira is a Cardiff-based product photographer who works with design-makers and creative businesses. She combines her love of image making with the desire to help people showcase their creations.
