Introduction to Play Therapy workshop
Overview
Play Therapy helps support children dealing with traumatic or chaotic backgrounds. Young children can struggle to understand or verbalise their experiences impacting on their ability to manage their emotions.
This workshop is suitable for individuals considering taking up professional training in Play Therapy as well as professionals who are already working with children e.g. social workers, occupational/speech therapists, mental health professionals, residential workers etc.
No previous experience of Play Therapy is necessary but a willingness and enthusiasm to be playful will be very welcome.
The day is about exploring the core concepts of play therapy through a series of experiential activities, presentation and group discussions. Participants will gain an understanding of how children's unexpected spontaneous play can be the most effective healer.
With Kids, in collaboration with Queen Margaret University deliver a part-time BAPT accredited Masters in Play Therapy which is eligible for SAAS funding for the September 2026 intake. If interested contact With Kids or email training@withkids.org.uk
