About this event

Our beginner’s workshops, held at Gem-A HQ in London, are designed to give you an introduction to gemmology. Teaching basic theory and practical skills, these workshops will allow you to get hands-on with popular gemstones and gem testing equipment.

What will you learn?

You will learn the principles and basic techniques of the most common and readily accessible instruments and testers, including the 10× loupe, polariscope, spectroscope and refractometer. By the end of this workshop you will be able to use the equipment effectively and appreciate the value of each instrument in testing.

Who is the workshop suitable for?

Anyone with an interest in gems.

What do you need to bring?

Notebook & Pen, all other items will be supplied in class.
