Introduction to printmaking: Cells
Mon 14 November 2016, 10:00 – 16:00 GMT
Get hands-on and join us for a day of printmaking in collaboration with the Curwen Print Study Centre. In an intensive one-day workshop, you will have the opportunity to meet a scientist from the Wellcome Genome Campus who works on cutting-edge research to deepen our knowledge about how cells function. You will have the opportunity to see the campus’ research laboratories before tutors from the Curwen Print Study Centre lead you through the process of creating your own print inspired by the science that you have encountered.
This workshop will introduce you to Drypoint, a process working with a scored line into which the ink is pushed through a series of wiping techniques. Create intricate and detailed images with a rich and characterful line with this immediate and sensitive Intaglio process.
