Introduction to Proggy- Remembrance poppy picture
Overview
Proggy mats, also known as clippy mats and rag rugs, were a working-class craft born out of necessity in the 19th and early 20th centuries. They were a cheap and effective way to insulate cold floors. The technique was originally used by people to make rugs out of old pieces of clothing but we're giving it a more decorative twist and using it to make pictures! As it is Remembrance weekend we will use the same methods to make a lovely poppy themed picture in an embroidery hoop, perfect to hang or gift to a friend.
This workshop is suitable to any level of ability. All tuition and materials are included as well as a cuppa.
This workshop is subsidised by grant monies from the UK government, spaces are limited.
