Engage public and patient audiences with your research

About this event

This training session provides an introduction to public engagement (PE).

It is open to all staff (research, clinical, professional services) and post-graduate students across the School of Biomedical Engineering and Imaging Sciences (BMEIS) and the Department of Neuroimaging, IoPPN , King's College London.

This is an online interactive workshop that aims to help staff and students examine the practical aspects of running their own public engagement and patient involvement activities.

The session will cover both digital and face-to-face delivery of activities.

Overview of training session:

- What is public engagement (PE)? Is it different to public & patient involvement (PPI)?

- Why do it? Identifying clear aims and benefits to you/your research and the public

- Who is your target public audience(s) and how will you reach them?

- Ideas and inspiration on how to involve public contributors meaningful in research, including through online engagement

- Evaluation of PE/PPI activities to demonstrate impact

- Signposting to in-house and local resources, including funding for PE /PPI
