About Maggie:
Maggie Shafran is a professional American artist living in London. She first moved to the UK in 2020 to study at the Royal College of Art, returning in 2022 to complete a Master’s in Painting at Camberwell College of Arts, University of the Arts London.
Maggie’s deep interest in drawing began at an early age, nurtured through a fascination with horses and countless hours spent sketching them. She went on to refine her craft through portraiture, working with pencil, charcoal, pastels and oil paint. After finishing her undergraduate degree in California, she made her living as a pet portrait artist before returning to academia to further develop her practice.
Drawing remains central to Maggie’s work today, with technical skill and observation at its core. Her work balances precision with sensitivity, reflecting a lifelong engagement with the possibilities of line and form.
