About this event

  • Event lasts 7 hours

Printmaker James Vass will guide you through the reductive linocut process in which class participants will make multi toned prints from a single block of lino over the course of the day.

In art, chiaroscuro is the use of strong contrasts between light and dark, usually bold contrasts affecting a whole composition. It is also a technical term used by artists and art historians for the use of contrasts of light to achieve a sense of volume in modelling three-dimensional objects and figures. Similar effects in cinema, and black and white and low-key photography, are also called chiaroscuro.

We are delighted to be hosting summer printmaking courses at the Peacock print studio. These cover an exciting and varied range of processes and ability levels to suit complete beginners right through to more experienced printmakers.

We are passionate about making printmaking as accessible as possible and reducing barriers to participation as far as we can, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to develop their creativity.

Please get in touch directly if you wish to be added to a reserve list which we will consider if spaces are available close to the start time of each course.

Concession rates are available for Students, OAPs, Unemployed.
