Course Overview

This course will enable Activity Providers and care teams to understand the importance and benefits of reminiscence in supporting wellbeing, connection, and person-centred care

Aim

To provide participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to plan and deliver effective reminiscence activities that support memory, identity, and wellbeing.

Learning outcomes

• Understand the benefits of reminiscence for cognitive, emotional, and social wellbeing.
• Facilitate group and one-to-one reminiscence sessions with confidence and sensitivity.
• Reflect on the ethical considerations and emotional impact of reminiscence work.

- Includes video demonstrations, breakout sessions, practical tasks, downloadable handouts, and live Q&A

Please note:The training environment will need to be quiet and undisturbed.Staff will need to give the course their full attention and should not be on duty.

As an attendee of the training day you MUST have your camera on during all of the sessions, this is to verify your participation/attendance.

Certificates of attendance will only be issued to attendees who attend for the whole of the session.This course will be delivered via ZOOM and will include, presentations, discussion and reflection, case studies, videos and demonstrations. Please make sure that you are familiar with using ZOOM.
