Event Details

This course is an introduction to safeguarding and child protection issues for those working in small community groups. You will gain a basic understanding of your role in establishing a safe environment and safe working practices in protecting children and young people from harm and abuse.

This course is for those who have contact with children or young people as part of a small community project/group.

This course you will help you:

  • Gain confidence in handling concerns & disclosures
  • Explore Safeguarding and Child Protection
  • Learn the signs and symptoms of abuse
  • Discuss the multi-agency approach to safeguarding
  • Gain knowledge about the legal background

Feedback from attendees:

“A very professional and knowledgeable trainer –everything was covered in a non-threatening way and I now feel much better prepared to deal with child protection issues.”

“Thank you. This has been the best safeguarding training I’ve had and I’ve had loads. Was very informative.”

We ask that you book no more than four people from one organisation on to this course. From our experience we know that any more than this can affect the group dynamic and the session can end up focused on one particular group. We would like everyone to feel included in the training - sessions are far more exciting when there is a good mix of diverse participants from different organisations!

If for any reason you are unable to attend the training please contact us on 01273 420973 or by email at training@safety-net.org.uk at your earliest convenience to cancel your place.

If you are unable to attend please let us know as soon as possible. There is a £15 charge for non-attendance without letting us know as places are limited and we want to ensure that all who want to attend are able to do so.
