Overview

Do you want to experience how programming skills can boost your research practice? In this one-day hands-on workshop taught by experts from the Netherlands eScience Center, you will learn the basics of programming in Python, the most commonly used scientific computing programming language. Python is powerful, versatile and yet novice-friendly.

You will learn:

  • how to interact, execute commands and programs in Python

  • iPython features or interactive interpreter

  • data handling in Python

  • working efficiently with tabular data in Python

  • creating publication-ready reproducible plots

Practical information:

  • This workshop is targeted at scientific researchers (PhD students, postdocs, professors) from all academic disciplines.

  • No programming skills are necessary but prior knowledge may be useful.

  • Practical information and materials will be made available before the workshop. Lunch and coffee are included.
