Description

This intensive one day course focusses on traditional methods of sculpture from observation and includes working from a life model. We work in air-drying clay to make two sculptures, first a relief and then a sculpture in the round. There will be plenty of opportunity for personalised tuition from both tutors, and all materials are supplied.

Rachel Cohen studied Art History (BA) at Sussex University and Fine Art (PG Dip) at Brighton. She has an MA in museum and gallery education from the Institute of Education, London. She learned printmaking at a private college in Treviso, Italy and at Kensington and Chelsea Institute in London. Rachel works with wide range of techniques and materials. She creates objects, site-specific installations and participatory events.http://www.rachelcohen.co.uk

Dinah Kelly received her BA in Fine Art from the Ruskin School of Drawing. She works as an artist-educator for several major museums, including The Royal Academy of Art, Pallant House, and the Courtauld Institute where she gives expert gallery talks and leads workshops in response to their collections. She also teaches GCSE and A level art in Brighton.
