Accelerating Women’s Enterprise (AWE), is a collaborative project helping women either side of the Channel to increase their knowledge and personal skills to start and grow a successful business. This workshop is available exclusively for women.

We support women through training workshops, face to face advice, mentoring and online learning, all developed specifically for women.

Introduction to Self-Employment – Session 1- Thursday 7 January 10:00-13:00

Where would you like to be and how are you going to get there?

Everyone asks themselves these questions at different times in their lives, usually at some kind of ‘crossroads’, especially when we are looking for a different future.

This workshop is about unlocking your potential, looking at what you have already accomplished and what you would like to achieve.

It will also help to identify both the potential barriers and benefits and build your resilience and self-belief when considering starting out in business. This Introduction to Self-Employment workshop will be really useful for those at the early stages of considering enterprising activities.

Designed for women, they will help you to consider the fundamentals involved with creating your own business. The workshop will include an overview of all the things you will need to consider when starting a business.

Time Management – Session 2 – Thursday 14 January 10:00 - 13:00

This Time Management workshop designed specifically for female entrepreneurs challenges the perceptions regarding 'time' and how we 'spend' it, and you'll learn a range of practical ways / methods to improve your overall efficiency whilst starting your new business.

The aim of this workshop:

We will look at ways in which we waste time by being inefficient and work on practical solutions to improve your time management and overall effectiveness.

Aims of the workshop include the following themes:

- Identify how we react under time bound pressure

- Understand how we are governed by time and why

- Discover where our time goes on a weekly basis

- Put together a plan enabling you to prioritise your week.

By acting on your personal organisation and skills, you will give yourself the opportunity to achieve your objectives which in turn will give you greater satisfaction, reduced stress and generate better results for you and your new business!

Introduction to Business Planning – Session 3 - Thursday 21 January 10:00 - 13:00

This informative workshop looks at the importance of implementing a Business Plan for your enterprise. As a potential entrepreneur this session will look at how you can formulate a strategy for your business and looks in depth at all the different factors you will need to consider.

The workshop will cover the key points when writing a business plan to establish feasibility. We will look at Mission statements, personal profiles, marketing strategy and finance/funding options.

Introduction to Business Finance & Risk – Session 4 – Thursday 28 January 10:00 - 13:00

Have you started your business but unsure if you have a strong financial foundation?

Need information on funding options for your business?

Don’t know where to start with costing your products or service?

This workshop will start from scratch to give you the basics necessary to build a business or grow your existing enterprise. It will also help you to understand whether your startup idea is financially feasible or viable.

This session will also looks at deconstructing limiting beliefs around money from a personal perspective and offer/provoke a new level of awareness in the relationship with money.

This is a fully funded course - we will ask you to fill in a registration form and session feedback form. Please ensure that if you are unable to attend the session, that you let us know so that we can move this place to another participant.
