Event description

Description

Audience: Suitable for parents/carers, teachers, SENCo's, Specialist Teachers and other health professionals

Presenter: Lara Breaker-Rolfe (Advanced Sensory Integration Practitioner & Paediatric Occupational Therapist)

Our INTRODUCTION TO SENSORY INTEGRATION workshop will provide participants with information about why sensory integration is essential to help us participate in everyday life. We aim to broaden your knowledge about the different sensory systems and how they underpin daily life, development and learning. You will learn how the sensory systems are affected in people with Autism/ASD, ADHD and other conditions. You will also learn how sensory differences can affect behaviour, learning, emotions and communication. We will provide information about sensory strategies which you can use at home or in school, so that you can be more confident in identifying and making changes to home and care routines, classrooms or clinical setting to be able to positively support the sensory needs of people with sensory integration difficulties.

Includes tea and coffee; please advise us of any special dietary requirements

Lunch not included, but cafe available on site
