✨ Learn to Sew: Sewing Machine 101 for Absolute Beginners

Ready to build your creative skills in 2025? Take your very first steps toward sewing machine confidence at our free Sewing Machine 101 workshop at the Preloved Studio.

Whether you have a machine at home you’ve never touched or you’re curious about picking up sewing as a hobby, this hands-on workshop is the perfect place to start. You’ll learn the basics of setting up and using a domestic sewing machine — all in a relaxed, welcoming space focused on creativity and reducing textile waste.

🧵 What You’ll Learn:

  • How domestic sewing machines work
  • How to wind a bobbin and thread the machine
  • How to sew straight lines, corners, and curves
  • Practical tips to start your sewing journey with confidence

This is a beginner-level workshop — no previous experience needed.

It’s a great introduction if you’re interested in joining our friendly Tuesday Social Sewing Drop-Ins for Beginners (see events page for future dates)
