Learn how to make a quilted laptop bag in our Introduction to Sewing workshop. Small group with all materials and lunch provided.
Come and learn how to use a sewing machine, whilst producing a beautiful and useful laptop bag in a friendly and supportive environment.
Suitable for beginners and intermediate sewers, this one day course will teach you how to utilise 'waste' to create a unique item, whilst learning the basics of operating a sewing machine and inserting a zip.
All materials, equipment and lunch included.
During the day long workshop, you will learn how to;
- thread up and use a sewing machine for straight seams
- piece together strips to form 'new' fabric
- design and execute your own quilting stitching
- make and insert a lining
- insert a zip
What you need to bring
- a desire to learn and be creative
- measurements of a laptop
- a notebook and pencil if desired
Location
Based in SE19 the workshop is held in a ground floor, home based environment. Two steps on entry.
About Stitches & Seams
With a background in teaching, Emma has 10+years sewing and making experience, and a desire to share and empower individuals to make and create. She has a deep belief that being creative is within the grasp of anyone and can be a very powerful tool in generating a sesne of community, whilst helping reduce waste through creating a deeper connection between humans and their environment.
