Event description

Description

Join Gareth Kennerley, a former winner of the Michael Bryant Verse Speaking Award for 4 Classes introducing you to verse, voice and Shakespeare.

This course is part of the Scaffold State Training Program, but is also open to people outside of the company, and once you've worked with Gareth you can be considered to take part in our next Shakespeare production which will start rehearsing in January 2017 - our production of Much Ado About Nothing at the Courtyard Theatre this Summer was our first Shakespeare and was a fantastic success.

The course is intended to prepare you for working on a Shakespeare production - giving you the intellectual, physical, emotional and vocal readiness to bring classical text to life.

We will work four 6 hr sessions on a Saturday from the 12th November till the 3rd December. You will be expected to do learning work outside of class, but otherwise all that is needed is enthusiasm and commitment.

Each session will introduce you to 1 or 2 new areas of thought with regard to approaching Shakespeare and participants will be looking at a speech, a scene and a sonnet.

There will be an informal sharing of the work on the 3rd December for friends and family.

Come Join is.
