Introduction to silk screen printing course
Fri, 5 May 2017, 10:00 – Fri, 12 May 2017, 15:00 BST
A two-part screen printing course introducing you to different techniques to produce one-off and repeat prints. Running on two consecutive Fridays on 5th May and 12th May. Includes lunch and refreshments.
Friday 5th May 10:00am - 3:00pm
Week 1 - You will begin the morning session leaning about the basic principles of screen printing by experimenting with paper cut stencils which produce bold and effective prints. Then in the afternoon you will move onto setting up a screen using a blocking fluid that produces a more detailed print that can be reproduced a number of times.
Friday 12th May 10:00am - 3:00pm
Week 2 - Using one or both of the techniques that you have learnt in the first session you will create a final piece. The design, process and item that you are printing onto will be discussed with the tutor in advance of this session.
Suitable for beginners or as a refresher course.
Materials, equipment and a light lunch are supplied but students will need to supply the final item to print onto which will be discussed with each individual in advance of the final session.
