Introduction to Situational Awareness
Event Information
About this Event
Following years of operating in high risk environments where alertness and vigilance states are at an increased level the owner of Trident Manor was astonished at how unaware of situational realities most people are whilst at work and in every day life. From a security and safety perspective individuals were in what is known as a 'victim state,' where if something untoward happened they would probably become a victim.
That led to the development of this, and other personal safety and security programmes by Trident Manor and more recently by Trident Manor Training Academy its specialist learning arm.
The programme takes the delegates through different levels of alertness that exist and what the impact of each level can represent. It introduces proactive methods of analysis that everybody can use which include using sensory stimulus to maximise alert levels before offering sensible and effective guidance on how to prevent you becoming a victim or incidents occurring.
This programme is suitable anybody who want to reduce and proactively identify risks before they become a reality. It is especially good for certain occupations including:
- Security personnel
- Retail staff
- Hospitality staff
- Lone workers
- Charity workers
- Front of house staff
- Corporate travellers
- Diplomats
The programme has been developed and updated over a number of years and hundreds of delegates have benefited from the content.
At the end of the workshop delegates will have an increased understanding of the threats (natural, adversarial and accidental) that exist. Ways in which they can better analyse what their senses are telling them and proactive methods to protect themselves, friends and family. From an organisational perspective this programme clearly demonstrates the meeting of legal and moral duty of care obligations that they have for their staff.
