About this event
Do You Want To Save The World (Or Your Part Of It?) Through Business?
Here at StartUp Croydon, we are passionate about Social Enterprise, we find almost 50% of businesses that work with us have a mission to do good over a plan to sell their business in the future.
If you really think about it, what is driving you to set up your business? Do you want to be your own boss, working on your terms to make more money or does your ‘why’ go deeper than that?
Many of the people we meet have ‘lived experiences’ that mean they are driven to make a difference in the community. Perhaps they wish to provide better opportunities for young people after growing up in poverty, or they wish to provide to a certain demographic where that support is so necessary from a health or wellbeing perspective.
Perhaps they wish to improve recycling services in a particular area. Or they wish to set up sheltered living accommodation.
All these business ideas are recognised as having a social mission and we want to help you understand how to solve your problem through identifying your mission and measuring your impact. By understanding these elements of your business you may be better able to draw down funds to enable your social enterprise.
Each session over this two day course provides the opportunity to learn about these topics in an interactive way with take-away tools and techniques to apply to your business/social enterprise.
Join us for this two day course happening on 2-3 March to focus on your business’ true mission and the impact it has on our community.
Following successful completion, there is the chance to apply for the Building Business Horizons Programme.
While we encourage applications from as wide an area as possible, priority will be given to Croydon residents.
This is now being delivered face to face at our business centre, Weatherill House. We have a robust COVID-19 policy in place to minimise the risk of infection.
Please be aware that this is a popular course and we may need to operate a reserve list.
