Event description

Description

During this day we will bake a range of wood-fired sourdough bread, as well as pizzas for lunch. We'll make rye bread, focaccia, and 'peasant white' loaves, including some with our own heritage wheat flour.

We'll be exploring the relationship between the earth, our health and all the stages in between planting the seed to baking the bread. If time permits we'll also visit our wheat field on the farm.

You'll gain an understanding of natural fermentation, baking techniques and go away with bread, a sourdough stater, some grain to grow your own wheat and increased confidence to bake your own.

For anyone over the age of 15. Pay what you feel, guide price from £75 per person (includes lunch)

To book your ticket, make a resrvation. Your fee is payable either in cash on the day, or via bacs in advance (contact us). Once you reserve your place, the full fee will be payable unless you cancel by the 20tt April.

Concessions for those unwaged/low-waged (please contact us: Rupert@torthytir.co.uk 07955 387 614)

*due to the wood-fired oven being situated outside, this day is subject to the weather and we may have to postpone if its too wet.
