This introductory course will explain what spiritual care is and how your role fits within a healthcare team delivering this essential support. It will also provide you with basic skills and practical guidance for offering spiritual care to those in need.
You’ll learn about the signs of spiritual wellbeing including a sense of belonging and social connection as well as clues patients may be struggling. Attending to the spiritual needs of patients enhances the overall quality of care. It creates a safe environment in which someone can explore their own sense of what’s happening to them and can be open and honest with themselves about their hopes and fears around life and death.
