The course will provide an overview of the primary data analysis steps for SPSS users covering:

1. Software layout

2. Data/Variable View

3. Commands menu/using syntax codes in SPSS

4. Opening/Importing and exporting datasets

5. Conduct preliminary exploration on dataset:

a. Descriptive statistics

b. Visualizing your variables

c. Intro to statistical tests

At the end of the session students will be able to:

Import and export datasets into SPSS

Use the command menu and syntax

Conduct initial investigation on a dataset

Interpret outputs of descriptive statistics

Create simple visualization for variables in the dataset

Conduct and interpret simple statistical tests
