Event description

Description

This is the second of 5 classes on the use of colour in Still Life painting. We will look at the basic rules of colour mixing and use of colour to make your paintings sing! We will learn how to avoid mixing mud and the proper use of warm and cool colours. We will also look at the history of some of the common colours we use and what the pigments are made from. Each session will be suitable for absolute beginners as well as more experienced students, and can be booked individually or as a complete course.

We will be using mainly acrylic paint on canvas. Each week we will look at a different colour combinations through the work of some of our favourite artists. The emphasis will be on the correct use of colour through the use of a limited colour palette.

You will have comprehensive instruction from your tutor, Gill Walton, throughout. Gill is an experienced teacher and artist, known for her kindness as well as her high level of teaching. Gill works from Allanbank Arts and you can learn more about her work and other courses she runs from her website at info@allanbankarts,co.uk

Please bring your own painting materials and suitable paper/canvas. If you have an easel do bring it along. Do research still life works by each artist before each class if you have time. If you have any questions about the course content contact Gill on 07702 811374
