Nick Carrillo, our resident artist and an experienced photographer, is leading this session. Join Nick for an exciting opportunity to explore the art of street photography using a film camera (SLR). Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned photographer, this event is perfect for anyone eager to capture the essence of the streets. With Nick's wealth of photography experience, he'll guide you through valuable insights and techniques to master this unique genre.
This in-person event at Hazlehurst Studios allows you to roam the streets and capture everyday life. Learn the art of composing compelling shots, playing with light and shadows, and capturing those candid moments that make street photography so captivating.
During the workshop, you'll also have the chance to acquire the skills needed to use an analog film SLR camera and process your own film.
After a brief introduction and equipment demonstration by Nick Carrillo, the first part of the workshop will involve shooting black & white film based on your chosen theme. Subsequently, you'll proceed to process your film, producing a set of negatives ready for scanning.
While it's ideal to have some basic understanding of camera controls, it's not essential.
Cameras, lenses, and film will be provided.
What you'll need on the day: Since you'll be working outdoors, please dress appropriately.
