What is Surrey Open Pathway?

Surrey Open Pathway is a flexible, practice-based route which aims to contribute to the development of theoretically informed understandings and promote reflective practice while respecting disciplinary backgrounds.

How does Surrey Open Pathway work?

You will develop evidence of your professional practice through a written or oral application for accreditation. Evidence might include peer observations, conference presentations, and student feedback. All of this evidence is underpinned by reflective accounts of practice.

You will write a critically reflective narrative and case studies for presentation to the internal assessment panel, in either written or oral form. You also submit a detailed CV and references.

What support will I get?

You will be allocated a peer mentor to support you throughout the process. All mentors will be Fellows or Senior Fellows of the HEA. All mentors will have undertaken mentoring training.

Your mentor can guide you in your selection of evidence for professional practice, as well as give you feedback on your reflective narrative in preparation for submission to the assessment panel.

You will be enrolled on the SurreyLearn Surrey Open module. In this module you will find support on preparing your e-portfolio, articles, suggestions for professional practice evidence, activities to stimulate reflection, videos.
