Description

Introduction to Tantra: Entering the Blissful Path with Buddhist Monk, Gen Kelsang Gomchen

Saturday 19 May | 10am – 1pm

£20 | Included in KMC London Standard Membership

“You should never abandon Highest Yoga Tantra,

But realize that is has inconceivable meaning

And is the very essence of Buddhadharma.”

Heruka Root Tantra

Be introduced to the blissful path of authentic Buddhist Tantra which lies at the very heart of the path to enlightenment.

In many ways, Tantra is particularly suited to the modern-day practitioner. It is said that as times become more degenerate with uncontrolled desire increasing everywhere throughout the world, it will become harder and harder to gain spiritual realizations. However, through the skilful method of Buddhist Tantra we can transform all our experiences of worldly enjoyment into part of our spiritual path that leads us to find a deeper happiness from within. Eventually we will actualize our full spiritual potential and come to enjoy a completely pure enlightened self, world and enjoyments.

Course schedule

10am – 11:15am – Session One

12pm – 1pm – Session Two

About the Teacher

Gen Kelsang Gomchen is a qualified Kadampa practitioner and teacher of Kadampa Buddhism. He has received extensive teachings of both Sutra and Tantra including the empowerments of Highest Yoga Tantra from Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche. He has completed an intensive Special Teacher Training Programme with our General Spiritual Director, Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong, and engaged sincerely in meditation retreats on both Sutra and Tantra.

Gen Gomchen is known for his ability to inspire others through sincere practice and to present the deeper meanings of Venerable-Geshe-la’s books in a way that is practical and relevant to all who listen.

What will each session consist of?

Each session will include a combination of teachings and guided meditations with an opportunity to ask questions at the end and socialize with like-minded people during the break time.

Do I need to bring anything or wear anything special?

No. All sessions will take place on chairs but there are optional cushions if you prefer to sit cross-legged. You don’t need to bring anything else with you, but some people like to take notes during the session.

What if I’m new to this?

Everyone is welcome to participate in this course. If you are new to Buddhism and meditation some of the ideas raised may be unfamiliar, but the teacher will explain everything clearly, just bring an open mind!
