Introduction to Teaching in Higher Education

The one day workshop, Introduction to Teaching in Higher Education is for research students who are new to teaching at University and are interested in finding out more about how to be great supporters of student learning. Over the course of the day you will be introduced to core concepts in university teaching such as learning styles, curriculum design and classroom management. You will explore different ways of making your lessons exciting and engaging, and you will learn about the key issues facing academic staff involved in teaching and learning in HE. There will be opportunities to try out your teaching methods within a supportive and constructive environment and you will also consider how you can use your research specialism to inform your teaching practice and inspire your students.
You do not need to be teaching at the University in order to take part in this workshop.
