This training will be held in Room 12/13 at Pullar House, and is for PKC staff and organisations working with the H&SC Partnership

Introduction to the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016


This 2.5 hour face-to-face interactive course discusses the impact that unpaid carers have on the communities where they live, how caring can impact on their own health and wellbeing and how the Carers Act (Scotland) 2016 provides for more consistent support for unpaid carers to enable them to have a life alongside caring.


The Aims of the course are to provide an understanding of:


• The changes introduced by the Act;


• How the Act is implemented in Perth and Kinross;


• The local Adult Carers Eligibility Framework and its use when writing an Adult Carer Support Plan;


• Waiving of Charges.
