Overview

Starting a new community energy project can be daunting and it’s tricky to know where to start.

The Community Energy Launchpad will provide early stage support to communities interested in learning about community energy & exploring the options available.

With the help of the Community Energy Launchpad, you could end up installing solar panels on a community building, developing a community-owned wind turbine, or investigating shared ownership, where a community group invests in a commercially owned renewable energy project. The Launchpad will help in the inital stages, supporting community organisations to be ready to work with the team at Local Energy Scotland and deliver your project.

Join our DTA Scotland information session on the CARES programme with particular focus on the Launchpad, where we will be joined by Local Energy Scotland (LES) and Community Energy Scotland (CES).

You'll find out about the support available from DTA Scotland, CES & LES, eligibility requirements and have opportunity to ask questions related to your project.

The Community Energy Launchpad is being delivered by Community Energy Scotland in partnership with Development Trusts Association Scotland. It will provide early stage support to help groups progress towards wider funding and support from CARES.

The Scottish Government’s Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES) provides funding and support to help communities to benefit from the transition to net zero. The scheme is delivered by Local Energy Scotland.
