Introduction to the Eton Myers Collection of Egyptology
Thu 26 January 2017, 12:45 – 13:30 GMT
Join us for a tour of the Eton Myers Collection of Egyptology; a collection of over 500 Egyptian artefacts amassed during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. While you are here, you will learn about how the iconic Egyptian blue faience was produced, which resulted in the production of thousands of amulets, figurines, and jewellery treasured by the ancient Egyptian elite and commoner, alike. You can also view the current exhibition Objects Come to Life to gain a unique understanding of ancient Egyptian culture, as well as early Egyptological practices and view the beautiful statuettes, shabtis, decorated vessels, and pottery of the collection.
Meet in the foyer of the Orchard Learning Resource Centre.
