About this event

The Learning Village is an English as an Additional Language (EAL) programme specifically designed for new arrivals and intermediate learners in English-medium schools. The Village, which caters to primary-aged learners, includes everyday language, phonics, and curriculum content. The Islands is for secondary-aged learners and, in addition to the content in the Village, it has extended everyday language and curriculum content sections to cater for learners up to the age of 16. Both are great resources for learners who are new to English – as well as for learners with special educational needs, who need a carefully scaffolded approach to language and literacy.

This webinar provides an introduction to the world of the Learning Village. We’ll explain how the programme operates and show the benefits it brings to learners, teachers and the whole school community. This includes a short introduction to remote learning through the platform.

The Learning Village is part of Across Cultures.
