Event Information
About this Event
Following years of developing and delivering a range of specialist programmes dedicated to the protection of cultural (and heritage) venues it is with great delight that the first of these, 'Introduction to the Protection of Cultural Venues' has now been 'Certified' by the CPD (Continued Professional Development) Certification Service.
This is an introductory level workshop that is aimed at those who have a need, or desire to understand the threats that can impact the sectors, how they manifest themselves, and steps that can be taken to reduce the risks they pose.
The programme shares information, skills, and knowledge gained over many years within the Cultural and Heritage sectors on how to identify, manage, and mitigate risks that exist within museums and other cultural venues.
The programme content includes:
• Understanding Hazards and Adversarial Threats
• Attack Methodology – The Attack Cycle (includes case studies)
• Situational Awareness
• Surveillance and Surveillance Detection
• Effective Operational Practises
This programme is ideal for those involved in operational activities including: front of house staff, invigilators, visitor service teams, curatorial teams, facility management organisations, and contracted or in-house security personnel.
The workshop is delivered by Andy Davis (MSc. CPP., CSyP, FSyI) the owner of Trident Manor Limited, Chair of the ASIS international Cultural Property Council and founder of the IAASF (International Arts & Antiquities Security Forum). He has been involved in the audit, review and design of museums and other cultural venues around the world for a number of years and supports many sector specific good causes..
At the end of the programme participants will have increased knowledge and awareness of the threats that exist, how they can manifest themselves, have increased levels of awareness and vigilance, and be able to proactively help reduce the risks to venues, visitors and staff.
