Ready to start your sewing journey? Our Introduction to the Sewing Machine Class is the perfect starting point for beginners or anyone looking to refresh their skills. This hands-on class will teach you the fundamentals of using a sewing machine with confidence and ease.

You will make a set of samples to take home, to remind you of the steps you have learnt. At the end of the day you will make an origami drawstring bag to take home.
Skill level: No sewing machine skills required.
What to bring:
To start the class:
- 0.5 metres of calico (from this cut at least 10 15x15cm squares for the samples. Bring the remainder with you in case you need more).
- 0.3 metres of insertion lace - i.e. Lace with two straight edges.
For the project to take home:
- 2 x 0.5 metre squares in matching / contrasting colours in a light cotton (2 fat quarters or craft cotton would be ideal)
- Contrasting thread
Janome sewing machines will be provided on the day along with a hot drink. You will also receive a 10% discount card to use in-store.
