Jointly organised by the RCVS and VDS Training this two-day course provides key information and skills needed to practise in the UK.

The course is aimed at overseas qualified veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses during their first two years working in the UK, as well as those considering working here.

Tuesday 11 June 2019 - Working in UK veterinary practice: key information for vets and vet nurses

  • The day covers how the UK veterinary professions are organised, with information about jobs, employment rights and the support available if things go wrong.

  • Talks are given by representatives from the RCVS, VDS Training, BVA, British Veterinary Nursing Association and the Vetlife charity.

  • The course also aims to help delegates understand their legal duties as a veterinary professional in the UK, which can vary significantly from their own country, along with expected standards of professional conduct.

  • The day is free to attend and lunch is provided.

Wednesday 12 June 2019 - Communications Masterclass

Venue

This training day will take place at The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, 62-64 Horseferry Road London SW1P 2AF

In small groups, delegates go through the challenges they may face in the consulting room and how to handle them in a role-play format. The day costs £180 inclusive of VAT per person.
