This is one of the modules of our Introduction to Intellectual Property course.

The course to intended to equip the solicitor or barrister who does not claim expertise in intellectual property law with the basics to represent a party to an infringement claim or negotiate a licence or distribution agreement. It will therefore be useful not only to a general or commercial practitioner or litigator but also to someone who intends to specialize in intellectual property but has not yet had much experience of the work.

The trade mark module considers what is a trade mark and what does it do? It offers an overview of law of passing off. It discusses UK and Community trade marks, classes of goods and services and specifications, TRIPS, the Paris Convention and Madrid Protocol, the Trade Marks Directive and Community trade mark regulation, enforcement and licensing.
