INTRODUCTION TO TV COMEDY - PART ONE
Event Information
About this event
This course provides you with the inspiration and insight you need to create saleable comedy for the TV and Content business. Over two sessions we will explain how the TV comedy industry actually works, how to write funny stuff, how to script edit and package your work, and how to sell it.
Your talent is a given but you can only succeed in selling a script if you understand the market, study how the business operates, and ensure you get your script to the right people at the right company at the right time. This is a primer in understanding the business and how to get the most out of your creativity.
The sessions are presented by GRAHAM SMITH and MARK ROBSON. Together they have produced, developed or commissioned comedy for all the main terrestrial channels, as well as creating comedy for SKY ATLANTIC and DAVE. They continue to work with Indies and Broadcasters to devise and package new comedy content for the screen.
"Thanks again for the wonderful workshop on writing comedy. It was so insightful and highlighted the importance of doing your research and pitching/adapting to various formats and platforms."
Part One breaks down into three sections:
