What we’ll cover

This hands-on introductory course will walk you through all the basic skills you need for upcycling.

By the end of the workshop, you will be ready to take an unloved piece of furniture, prepare, paint and restore it, ready for everyday use again.

First, you will learn basic steps, tips and techniques to prepare your project for upcycling. We will then demonstrate how to use Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in a variety of ways and teach several decorative paint styles and techniques. You can then choose your favourite Annie Sloan shade to apply to your own project piece.

Finally, we will explore options for finishing and protecting your project.

Need to know

This is a hands-on session, and everyone is encouraged to bring their own small piece of furniture to work on during the day such as a small bookcase, cabinet, table. Make sure it’s not something with sentimental value. If you need a piece to work on during the course, this can be arranged at a small additional cost.

All other tools, paint and materials will be available and provided as part of the course.

If you need additional hardware such as knobs or fixings you can either provide your own or we can provide these from our range at a small additional cost. Please get in touch with us before the workshop to arrange.
